Project Management

Cougar’s primary focus is the management and construction of the best corporate interior projects in Downtown Calgary, all the while working within the constraints of time, budget, quality and scope to achieve client objectives.

Cougar’s role in Project Management begins at the design stage of the project by providing advice to clients as to what the design will necessitate. Following this, Cougar undertakes the following processes to ensure a successful project outcome:

  • Gain formal approval of the project from Local Government
  • Develop a budget and schedule
  • Acquire, develop and manage the Project Team
  • Analyse and avert risk
  • Provide progress reports to the client
  • Measure ongoing project activities
  • Implement design changes into the schedule and budget
  • Monitor project variables
  • Close the project in accordance with local and provincial legislation

Design Build

As opposed to the traditional method of project delivery which involves multiple points of contact for the client (Design Team, General Contractor, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers), the Design Build process involves a single point of contact and responsibility for the client, often saving the client time , money and stress.

Construction Supervision

Cougar Contractors presently employs 10 highly experienced and skilled Site Supervisors to oversee all construction on-site, ensure safe and efficient work practices and collaborate with Cougar’s Project Managers. All of Cougar’s Site Supervisors are trained in OHS standards and expectations as well as sensitivities to working in occupied environments.

Sustainable Development (LEED)

LEED certified development is fast becoming the way of the future, with many of Calgary’s buildings choosing to be green and seek LEED certification. As such, Cougar is well aware of the processes of gaining LEED certification and is experienced in working with LEED representatives in order to gain LEED certification.
